East meets West - the new Indian-inspired neutrals

The jewel colours of India will always make my heart beat faster. A cobalt blue transports me in a flash to Jodphur and the coral pink of Jaipur is so evocative of my favourite city... but I wanted Dilli Grey to be more than an homage to this vibrant palette of India...

I proudly work with artisans in Jaipur to use traditional hand-block print techniques and classic heritage motifs, such as the paisley print - but I wanted to marry this aspect of Indian textile design with a Western aesthetic - more delicate, muted palettes that work so well for that 'laid-back, luxury boho' vibe that my Dilli Grey customers love.

Especially in our homewares and sleepwear, I really wanted to use luxury fabrics in a neutral palette to exude a feeling of restfulness and calm - creating a feeling of sanctuary for our customers - hence the 'grey' in our name!

Our cashmere throws are buttery soft - in delicate, intricate pale grey designs. They are so versatile, not only in colour, but they are a great size as a light-weight extra layer on a bed, or as a super snuggly, luxury throw for a sofa. I wanted to create something that had longevity, that wasn't in 'this season's colour', and could become a true heirloom piece.

We have two grey print collections in our sleepwear range - the intricate Grey ikat design (I love this oversized boyfriend shirt) and the subtle, palest grey of our paisley print, embellished with a repeating silver motif

I hope this little edit has shown you a different side to the Dilli Grey aesthetic - you can shop our Grey Collection - from Ikat print pyjamas to the softest cashmere throws, here.
