A Summer capsule Wardrobe

The 2 main topics of conversation in our Boutique in Barnes are 1. The Weather - the less said that about that the better 2. Styling and capsule wardrobes.

As a sustainable brand you will know that we are always advocating for buying better and buying well and one of the best ways to shop is to choose those wardrobe heroes that work HARD for you. The pieces that you always reach for because they make you feel great and that are so easy to wear.

I am always styling our customers and guiding them on how to get the most out of their Dilli Grey pieces. Layering is your friend, and a great accessory can elevate your whole look. When travelling perhaps on a mini break or a shorter holiday have a go at colour coordinating a few outfits so you don't get decision fatigue when you are away and you can swish around feeling fabulous. With this in mind I have put together some ideas for you based on some of the pieces we have in our current collection to inspire you.

I have pulled together 5 grids of looks from these 5 pieces but could have suggested 20 because they all work together and have a tonal colour connection it makes them feel so versatile.

This is one of my favourite looks. Our new hand embroidered Chikkankari maxi dress is a total dream boat to wear in butter soft fine Indian cotton. I love the idea of layering our Dylan denim shirt over her and belting to cinch in your waist to create a ‘skirt’ out of your dress and whipping her off if it’s hot enough. Add your favourite day bag, I’ve added our lotus mini bowling bag for her versatility which would also make a great inflight bag.

Everything looks great with denim or a white linen trouser, I have paired them with our Lotus oversized shirt. I designed this as a nightshirt but we sell them mainly as a beach cover up or a relaxed day tunic. Hand block printed in this beautiful tonal lotus print I love unbuttoning all of the buttons and turning the cuffs up to add some styling details and a bit of personality.

This season we have added block print sarongs  to our collection and you are loving them! I love the versatility of a printed sarong they can be worn a multitude of ways and make a great scarf too as our cotton is fine and super soft.

My holiday wardrobe would not be complete without one of our best selling Chikankari Maxi Dresses. This is THE most versatile dress up dress down dress and I love the chic navy. This dress is laid back enough for the beach but beautiful enough for a wedding dressed up.

Let me know how you get on with your curated packing and I hope this has inspired you to make an edit of your holiday wardrobe.
