Meet the new collection

"Dilli Grey has developed a signature as a 'sunshine brand', the warmth and feel-good factor of the womenswear we design lends itself to floaty, care-free summer days, but this winter I wanted to show another facet to her; a vintage-inspired, sumptuous side that felt distinctly different to our sunwashed summer styles.... Our new autumn collection is a palette of soft blacks, berry tones and vintage rose hues, with design inspiration taken from my own 70s archive of block-print textiles, as well as the soft pink tones of Rajasthan - from the hand-painted murals to the desert sunsets."

We've added lining and quilting details to make them cosier for autumn, but as a sustainable brand we want to create 'seasonless' styles that are not trend-led and can be worn all year round, season after season. We will regularly be sharing '3 ways to wear' styling inspiration this season on the journal, to give you ideas on how to wear each piece throughout the year, with outfit inspo including some other sustainable, independent brands we love.
"You may be surprised to see black in the Dilli Grey palette this season but I think it's a brilliant foil to our bolder, more colourful block prints. Our artisans use a huge amount of skill to get the right softness of black that isn't 'over dyed' to an dull, saturated hue. I will be pairing both the Mila shirt and the new black Chikankari maxi dress with our bolder quilted jackets this year for a new take on 'boho' styling."

You'll notice our autumn collection is a mix of block-printing and hand-screen printing. Working closely with our 4th generation artisan printers we looked at the combination of prints and colour palettes to work out the best discipline for each design to ensure the best finish. Both methods use heritage techniques, with no machinery and a multi-layered approach to lay down the blocks, or screens, to achieve the final look - with our komal quilted jacket taking 11 blocks to achieve.
