Back in the ’90s, we called this a trophy jacket: the piece you could throw on with your simplest clothes and instantly feel fabulous. Bella brings that spirit to our Modern Maharani collection, with sumptuous black cotton velvet, intricate ivory hand embroidery and champagne-coloured flat sequins that catch the light as you move. Quite simply, one of the most beautiful jackets we’ve ever made.

Just 30 pieces have been made in black, with no further run planned this season. A small, limited edition celebrating the time, skill and care that go into each jacket.

Each Bella is individually made by our artisans and hand-finished with love, with beautiful embellishment continuing around the back. Inside, a floral block print cotton lining carries a little of our Dilli Grey heritage, a detail to fall in love with every time you slip her on.

For all her splendour, Bella is wonderfully easy to wear. The velvet is beautifully soft, and the edge-to-edge shape falls to the low hip, bringing a little glamour without compromising on comfort.

Throw her over jeans and a polo neck, or layer with an embroidered blouse for a glorious mix of texture and craft. Come evening, add slim black trousers and heels, or wear her over a simple slip dress. A little opulence, a thousand possibilities, and a jacket to reach for again and again.
